The major difference between the Japanese and American versions is that this is treated more like an actual game. The kind where you get together, act like an idiot (or stretch your pride), laugh, and don't take it too seriously. It's not a professional sport, it's Tetris, for God's sakes.
And no one here has the anal tension of a PGA finalist. It's why you can make a show about breaking shit in Japan and it will sell.
